Audrey Clark
Music has always been a part of soprano/alto Audrey Clark's life. She began her musical journey singing lullabies with her mom, and soon became an active member of her church children’s choir. Following in her mom’s footsteps, Audrey also studied and became an accomplished flutist. In high school, though active in band and choir, she developed a passion for vocal music and decided to pursue it further.
Audrey graduated from Sam Houston State University in 2006, earning a Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance. As a student at SHSU, Audrey was active in the opera program and enjoyed performing roles and arias from Il barbiere di Siviglia, L’Elisir d’Amore, Too Many Sopranos, Così fan tutte, and Manon, among others. Her favorite role is Musetta from La Bohéme. Prior to moving to Bend in 2011, Audrey spent several years as an elementary music teacher in Spring, Texas. Her favorite part of teaching was leading the extracurricular children’s choir, which consisted of more than 60 voices from various grades. In 2010, her choir was chosen as one of a handful of elementary school choirs to perform at the Texas Music Educators Association annual convention in San Antonio. Audrey also maintained a full private voice studio of 40+ students, and particularly enjoyed the one-on-one interaction of private instruction. These days, Audrey spends her time as a mom of three, a private voice teacher, and the K-2 music teacher at Trinity Lutheran School. When time allows, she sings with her husband's choirs, Central Oregon Mastersingers & Trinity Episcopal Church Choir, and of course Bend Camerata. Her husband, Christian, is also a founding member of Bend Camerata. Audrey and Christian love living in Bend with their three kiddos, Jackson, Jacob and Elizabeth, and their crazy pups, Gracie and Remi! |
