Stephen Wagner
Stephen Wagner grew up in a singing household. Some of his earliest memories are of his family traveling throughout Texas with his mom’s semi-professional vocal group. At the young age of three, Stephen began to sing in local church choirs and preform in children’s programs. He remained deeply involved with music in his local church as well as playing saxophone and singing in choir in middle and high school. After graduating, Stephen studied music at Oklahoma Baptist University and Collin College, where he was named Male Vocalist of the Year for two consecutive years. His repertoire spans a wide range of composers, including Bach, Handel, Wagner, Debussy, and Quilter. Stephen also enjoys performing in local musical theater productions. Some his favorite roles have been Seymour in “Little Shop of Horrors,” The Jester in “Once Upon a Mattress,” and Caiaphas in “Passion”. While in college, Stephen served as the Assistant Music Minister at Lakeland Baptist Church in Lewisville, Texas where he assisted in preparing and conducting a 50 voice choir and 20 piece orchestra. One of his passions is to show everyone that they can be a part of beautiful music making. After moving to Bend in June of 2017, Stephen was invited to join Bend Camerata, and he was immediately impressed by the caliber of music and musicians in the group. Even though he is the “newbie,” he is excited to be able to sing with some very talented musicians and looks forward to continue to build long lasting friendships in the group. |
